Mailbox acting full, rejecting all messages, but oly at 20%

One of my colleagues mail box won't send messages and won't receive. We are
both on the same Exchange 2003 server running Outlook 2003. If I send him a
message, it bounces back saying, "The message could not be delivered because
the recipient's mailbox is full." Our mailboxes are allotted 100MB each.

Yet, if we right click on his Mailbox in Outlook and do properties, it shows
just under 20MB, less than 20% of full.

Is there something else we might be missing? Any suggestions to fix this
problem so he can send and receive mail again?

Thank you for any help,
Colin

Does he use cached mode?
If he opens up his mailbox in a profile without cached mode, how big is it ?

Does he have a forward set on his mailbox to an external contact?

Are you sure he has a 100MB limit? Remember, quotas can be set on mail
stores, and also in ADUC properties.

We are both using Cached Exchange Mode, neither of us has a mail forward set
up. We do each have 100MB of space, my account currently shows about 58MB
and I have no problems with my mail.

We also both access the system from a couple of different computers. I don't
think that's relevant, but maybe you can tell me otherwise.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Colin

Open his mailbox with a test profile that doesn't have cached mode enabled.
If you still see the same problem, I'd talk to whomever administers the
exchange server, and/or post in an Exchange NG (such as m.p.exchange.admin).
....
Thanks,
Colin
