Mail Settings - non-OE Installation Question

I don't mean to say this isn't about Outlook Express - rather that I think
it's more a registry/install question.

I have a client who we've just set up domain-webhosting for and now that the
site's gone active I wondered about how to avoid producing a "How To" with
illustrations - the client is a technophobe when it comes to nuts-and-bolts
questions. While I can certainly produce a good tutorial for her with
images showing exactly what she'd see, I wondered if it wouldn't be easier
to just make a .reg file and email it to her to save, exit OE and execute
it. I figure I'm going to be on the phone with her anyway, no matter how
good the doc is, and it occurred to me.

How does one go about this? Thanks.

It's difficult to break off OE from the install and not break something
that is IE related. Is there a problem with simply setting a different mail
client as the default (or selecting "none" if going to webmail) in Internet
Options or Set Program Access and Defaults?

The client isn't very good at menu navigation, and is glad to have the
icon-buttons for Reply etc. She's used to OE. Is it possible to do this
kind of settings-adding via script to the registry? Thx.

Post your query to this OE6-specific newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

It's possible, yes, but...

Or perhaps in a scripting newsgroup? I figured since this is an XP-specific
and it involves the registry it would apply.
