Mail goes into outlook before I click send/receive. Why?

I am running windows xp and office 2003. My problem is
I
| am using mailwasher pro to sift out spam first, so I
have
auto send/receive switched off in outlook, but
sometimes
I find I have mail waiting in my inbox before I have
clicked send/receive in outlook. I also sometimes find
some of the spam in my deleted items folder in outlook,
when I was under the impression it should be deleted
off
the server by mailwasher. Why is this happening and
can
I stop it?
Well I turned off mailwasher, and sent myself a test
mail, which I didnt get in my inbox in outlook till I
clicked send/receive. But how do I stop it importing mail
till I click send/receive with mail washer running.
All auto matic mail checking has been disabled in outlook
as per the rules of using mailwasher pro, and mailwasher
is set to check for mail every ten minutes.
Please can someone help? Thanks in advance.

Is this happening in a Hotmail account? If so, that's how Hotmail
works. There's nothing that you can do except to have MailWasher stop
checking that account & begin checking it manually on your own.
