Made folder private and now can't undo it

Hello

We just returned from an overseas trip and as my niece and her friend were
going to be at our house, we passworded the computers and made folders
private as the girls were going to be on our network.

I have removed the password but now I'm unable to share folders again. When
I right click on "my documents" and choose 'sharing and security' under the
'Sharing' tab, the 'make this folder private' is ticked but I am unable to
untick it and I can't tick 'share this folder on the network' either.

Can someone please. Thanks

The folder is probably inheriting the permission from another folder
higher up.

If you made C:\Documents and Settings\Sarah private all the folders
below it will inherit the permission and the option to change it in
those folders below will be shaded and unavailable.

Thanks John but it doesn't really help me fix the problem.

It is the C:\Documents and Settings\Sarah folder that is private which won't
let me untick the 'make this folder private' box. How do I get permission to
stop this folder from being private?

You could check the properties of C:\Documents and Settings and make sure
that *that* folder isn't also set to private.
