Machine check: Regs message in eventviewer

Hi All,

I hope somebody can help me with getting this problem sorted out.

I have a machine with Windows XP Professional, that occasionally shows the blue screen or just reboots.

The only thing that I find in the eventlogs is the following:

"Application popup" with a description "Machine Check:" or "Machine Check: Regs". There is no additional information as to which part generated this error. Since we never see any popup messages on screen, it must be generated either during startup or shutdown.

Please let me know if you need more information or if you have some questions that would help you.

Any tips or hints or suggestions are very welcome.

I get those every reboot on AMD CPU based machines .. I don't think they
have anything to do with your blue screen crashes. Make sure you have
turned off 'restart after failure' in my computer, properties, advanced,
startup & recovery, and then post the text (plus numbers!) of the blue
screen error here to get more help (or stick it into groups.google.com,
since most errors have been solved before).
