Machine Check and Machine Check: Regs in Event Viewer

I am currently having no proplems with my PC.

It's an AMD Athlon XP 1800 with 1Gb RAM and a GEForce 4600Ti video card.

It boots up fine, runs, allows me to work and play games and then shuts down
properly with no problems.

Yesterday I noticed the following entries in the Event Viewer System log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 08/11/2004
Time: 19:20:07
User: N/A
Computer: WFDTC001
Description:
Application popup: : Machine Check:

and

I get three pairs of the above events on boot-up. When I click on the "For
more information, see Help and Support Center" link it takes me to a page
which does not help me diagnose the issue as it dosen't give enough
information.

This link provided alot of useful and reasuring information:

However what I really want is a definitive answer to the question is this
really a problem I should be worried about or not?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Wes.

However, this begs the question what do these messages actually mean?

Do I need to be proactive in trying to track down the cause because
something very horrible might happen to my PC?

Or do you think it's something that may eventually be addressed by a proper
MS KB article / hotfix / service pack?

Andrew,

I have recieved these Information items in the Event Viewer.

One of mine was for >>>
Application popup: Doc Scrubber: docscrubber.exe

I happen to know what that is. Otherwise I could Search my machine for
docscrubber.exe and find out what that is.

You need to do the same.

Search for Machine Check or MachineCheck on your computer to see what the
heck it is.

Machine Check apparently popped up an Application Popup several times. Have
you actually seen any of these?
