On xp professional startup following message prompt:

"lsass.exe-system error
When trying to update a password the return status
indicated that the value provided as the current password
is not correct."

then computer reboots followed by same error prompt,
followed by reboot, error, reboot, error, reboot...etc.

Hi Warren,

A suggested fix that seems to work on a regular basis without reloading the
system is to use Recovery Console and run a "chkdsk /r" and hope that the
utility fixes whatever was corrupted on the drive.
