Low disk space on drive d

Guest

Okay - Ive read some that the recovery drive is storing original
files/folders/programs that were on my computer when I first received it.
But I am getting the low space statement.

1. How did it get bigger?
2. In my drive D folder I have three things:
One is the locked recovery folder that I can not access
One is called "basement2" which is the name of my computer on my
network - it seems to contain many backup folders from different times, but
hardly any data in them - should it be there?

And thee is a file called mediabin

Can I delete anything?

Thanks

Hi "Ed43",
Okay - Ive read some that the recovery drive is storing original
files/folders/programs that were on my computer when I first received it.

This is by design of the system manufacturer. If you check your system
documentation you will likely find a procedure for accessing it at boot to
enable a recovery to factory state.
But I am getting the low space statement.

Normally, this volume has very little space left available on it. This is
normal.
1. How did it get bigger?

It didn't, something just triggered the messages. Perhaps you have System
Restore monitoring it, or tried defragging it.
2. In my drive D folder I have three things:
One is the locked recovery folder that I can not access
Normal.

One is called "basement2" which is the name of my computer on my
network - it seems to contain many backup folders from different times,
but
hardly any data in them - should it be there?

Did you run the pc backup tool and write files to this volume?
And thee is a file called mediabin
Normal.

Can I delete anything?

Not without knowing what it is first.
