Recovery Drive D full

My HP RECOVERY (D:) is full. Total size is 6.59 GB with 452 MB of free
space(7% free). What can I do to delete/free up space? When I first purchased
the notebook, I made two DVD recovery backups. Does this mean I don't need
the Recovery Drive? Can I delete it? If so, how?

The only files that should be on your recovery partition are image files to
return your PC back to factory conditions. You shouldn't be saving any files
to this partition.

If there is nothing else on the partition but the recovery files then leave
well alone. If, on the other hand, you have been saving your own files to
this partition, then I suggest you remove them to a DVD or your C: partition
Documents folder.

Have you tested your DVD recovery backups to determine if they work? I
would keep the recovery partition and delete everything from it except for
the recovery files. Buy an external drive if you need more space or get a
larger internal drive and transfer all your data to it.

D: should be nearly full. Why have more space for the recovery partition
than is needed? The larger question is do you need additional space? These
days another 6GB is small change. If C: is filling up consider an external
drive.
