Lost video card after failed driver upgrade

After unsuccessfully trying to upgrade drivers for Radeon 9200 on my XP,
system froze.

After reboot, XP will not recognize the hardware card for Radeon 9200, even
after System Restore

Try booting to safe mode then go into device manager and remove the card,
then reboot. XP should reinstall the card. Then get the lastest radeon
drivers from www.ati.com and load those. I just loaded the lastest drivers
for my radeon 9200 last night and no probs at all.

The card isn't listed in Device Manager
XP doesn't "see" it

I tried to install the newest drivers from ATI and half way thru the
process, xp froze. When I rebooted, it lost the card.

It's a dual monitor Radeon 9200 card and I have 3 other pci cards on the
system which are working.

My system is pretty clean. Recently defragged, my caches are clean and I
shut down all apps in Task Manager before trying the install. I was getting
it ready for SP2

Thanks for the help

Well, after power off over nite, all seems OK

A "soft" reboot wasn't enuf

Now I'm a little hesitant to try again to update the video drivers, and SP2

I'm running the same card - dual monitor/tv out ati radeon 9200. SP2 works
fine, the newest readeon drivers work fine, in fact I noticed an improvement
in one game.
If you have 4 cards installed all at the same time, I'd bet that's where
problems did or will arise from.

Yes, I have 3 Matrox Mill PCI's plus the Radeon

I'll try later today from safe mode

Thanks
