Lost the Internet after fixing problems

I ran a scan with MSAS which uncovered a ton of spyware.
I allowed the tool to remove the infestations and then
after a reboot I have lost my connection to the Internet.
I have tried everyting I can think of to get reconnected
to no avail. Has anyone seen this and could you advise? I
am not finding any reason for it not to work but
obviously something inportant was removed. I have a
second computer connected through the same broadband
connection so I can definately rule out the ISP.

Please help!!!
Thanks
Dave

You're welcome--this is the most frequent "bad" experience users have in
removing spyware--and we hope that Microsoft Antispyware will manage this
better in future builds.

Please see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

After you run Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), you
have network-related problems, or you receive an error
message

I have noticed that msas corrupts winsock files, just
click on start then run and enter the command "netsh
winsock reset" and restart your computer to reset the
winsock files and you should be online again.

Let me know if that works for you.

Actually, MSAS does not corrupt the WinSock, it is the spyware that
corrupts the WinSock and then when it is removed by MSAS or ant other
Spyware remover it remains corrupt. You would have to fix the WinSock
not matter what. If you are not using XP SP2 the "nensh winsock reset"
will not work, you may want to try this download fix.

Dave,
If you have XP try "Winsockxpfix.exe" Do a google search
to find it. Some spyware removal may corrupt the TCP/IP
stack. (MarketScore is one) Good Luck
