Internet/webpages no longer load after running spyware beta 1

My one computer upstairs had tons of spyware. I found the
microsoft spyware beta 1, downloaded it, and ran it. I
did a complete scan, and after that finished, websites
would no longer load. I made a restore point, so i went
back to that point and the internet worked agian. Well,
today the internet stopped working, and system restore no
longer restores to my points. I've never had
internet/webpage problems before until after installing
microsoft spyware beta 1. I have no idea what is causing
this, and removing the program doesn't fix my internet
issue :(

anyone have any ideas?

go to your dos promt and type "ftp 127.0.0.1". if it
comes back and says ftp: socket anywhere you have a
winsock issue. go to http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm for
info and probable fix. when you run antispy of any sort
and have spyware thats binded itself to reg keys...if you
remove the spyware, the reg keys go too...bad. hope this
helps

That's good.

That's what I get on my own machine, where, naturally, I'm not running an
FTP server, and the firewall doesn't have any FTP ports open.

I also get that , funny thing is I can access my network shares but nothing
Internet based. After uninstall, there are still files in the MSAB folder
and I've exported 20 registry keys so far.

I should know better than trust a beta MS prduct on a main machine

As far as I can see, that error does not indicate that anything is wrong.

I know of nothing harmful about the residual registry keys left behind from
a Microsoft Antispyware uninstall. If you don't want to reinstall
preserving settings and quarantine items, you can safely remove the
installation folder and contents.

There are also some GC*.* files in system32, but one of those is an OS
file--protected by the OS fortunately.

Can you ping by name an Internet-based resource?
