lost pictures from My Pictures

I downloaded a group of 12 pictures (.jpg) from the net. Out of the 12 there
are 3 of them, when i put them in My Pictures folder the entire contents of
My Pictures is not available in the display/desktop background list. If i
remove them from My Pictures folder, the list becomes complete again. I
scanned the pictures (Norton, AVG, spy-bot, ad-aware) and still have the same
problem. It is not a big deal, but seems odd that these 3 pics would cause
the entire folder (My Pictures) to not be visible. Any ideas what is
happenning? I've seen lots of postings to get rid of extra pictures ppl don't
want (that is easy). Have never had the problem where the folder contents are
missing in the desktop list due to an addition of more pictures. I am running
XP Home SP2....Thx Dave

I found that if I exceeded 100 images in
My Pictures...they would no longer be
available in the background list.

Maybe you have exceeded 100 images
in My Pictures.

Thx...yes i believe you are correct....i checked and discovered that i have
exactly 100 pics in the folder....the addition of anything causes the
problem. Now that you mention this i remember reading the reference to 100
pics somewhere before...but thx
