Reinstalled WinXP SP2, apparently lost my Network Neighborhood in the
process. Where did it go and/or how can I get it back?

Dave,

When you install SP2, it installs Windows Firewall. You need to enable the File
and Printer Sharing exception, and give it a scope to include your subnet.

Then check for misconfigured / overlooked third party firewalls, and check
registry setting restrictanonymous.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked

XP has My Network Places, not Network Neighborhood.

To put My Network Places on the desktop:

1. Right-click a blank place on the desktop.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click Desktop.
4. Click Customize Desktop.
5. Put a check mark in the My Network Places box.

To put My Network Places in the Start menu:

1. Right-click the Start button.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click Customize.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Put a check mark in the My Network Places box.
