No network after installing a DVD drive

After installing a new LG CD/DVD drive/recorder and having some trouble to
setting it up everything seemed to be fine, but soon after I found out that
there was no network/Internet access, network devices disappeared in device
manager and I lost all network connections in network neighborhood. And also,
I could not restore Windows settings before the instalation and lost my
administrator rights because Windows claims of some DLL files stuff. Is there
any light about this ? Thanks.

I've never seen this happen because of a software problem, but of course
I don't know what "having some trouble to setting it up" entails. It is
more likely that since you were working inside the computer you
dislodged the network adapter. With the computer off and unplugged,
open the case and reseat the network adapter. If the network adapter is
on the motherboard, you may have damaged something while working inside
the computer. Put in a PCI network adapter and try.

Well, problem solved. Just changed network card to another PCI slot and
Windows recognized the adapter again. Seems to be ok now. Thanks a lot.
