Lost all my data in outlook 03 after clicking on Detect & Repair in Help menu

Not possible. There is no such thing as a "Save as..." function for a
Contacts Folder. A Contacts Folder can only be exported, not saved. You can
export to one of several formats and in that process you would have had to
specify the file type and map the data fields, so that the file could then
be imported.
"Save as..." is only available for a single Contact entry, so I would
suspect that is all you managed to save. What does the TXT file contain when
you open it?

Please provide the information I requested. Most of your

If you created it

the
biggest one, 91.3 MB the other are 4100 K, 625 K, and

Yes indeed, I searched for and all opened PST. File.
Question:
Do you know how to Import From Outlook this
notepad/text

Could you please tell me how to do that????

Then that would mean that you still have not found your

Again and again, I do have my mails back with the

Please, let's focus on those two aspects, if your
want..
- I was able to retrieve my calendar in a funny
way. When I click to my Calendar folder I have this
new
clean one in, without my previous data in and below
that
same new calendar folder, I have my old one now.
What I
need to do is to replace my old calendar as my
default
calendar by eliminating (deleting or removing it
definitely) this new one without any data. Could
please
tell how to that? Thank you...
Contacts:
Regarding my contacts folder, it's still empty.
It is not in. What should I do?

Now as you remember, I told you that I have a while

not understand?
Your Outlook data is where it was before. Just
search
for *.PST if you don't
know where it was and open one you find each
in
Outlook
until you find the
one that has all your data.
The article I posted is pretty clear.

Your question simply cannot be answered without the information I requested.
The whole reason I resigned from this post is that from the very beginning
you have consistently failed to include any relevant information with your
posts that would permit an answer and because you also consistently failed
to provide any of the information I requested (despite my being forced to
ask you over and over). That remains the case. Good luck.
--
Russ Valentine
[MVP-Outlook]
You asked me a question: I responded and told that this
contacts file is under two formats: Text and Excel.
Instead of asking the same question over and over when
you have the answer, why don't tell me that you don't
know how to do it simply so that way, both of us won't
waste any time...
-----Original Message-----
I'll leave you on your own, then. Once you figure out what you did, you'll
find ample documentation in Help files and in the Knowledge Base for how to
import Comma Separated Values and Tab Delimited Value files.
--
Russ Valentine
[MVP-Outlook]
I may have import and export this file on my desktop
(current location). My both identical files under TEXT
file and Excel, contain my total address book or contacts
(same thing)
-----Original Message-----
Not possible. There is no such thing as a "Save as..."
function for a
Contacts Folder. A Contacts Folder can only be exported,
not saved. You can
export to one of several formats and in that process you
would have had to
specify the file type and map the data fields, so that
the file could then
be imported.
"Save as..." is only available for a single Contact
entry, so I would
suspect that is all you managed to save. What does the
TXT file contain when
you open it?
--
Russ Valentine
[MVP-Outlook]
message
I did not do anything unusual. Really, it was a basic
move. I opened my contacts file and went to
Menu/File/Save as... choose my drop location on my
desktop folder and that was it. I looked at up this
file
after and it was under Notepad and Text format.
Frankly,
there is nothing much to add up...
If you know how to import from Outlook a text format
file, please let me know, thanks.

-----Original Message-----
Please provide the information I requested. Most of
your
questions in this thread cannot be answered with any
accuracy because you provide so little of the
information
required.
I do not know how you created this file or whether it
is
a tab delimited file, comma delimited file, or some
other
format. I do not know how you've designated the fields
in
this file.
Once you figure that out, Outlook's Help files will
guide
you the rest of the way.
Russ Valentine
[MVP-Outlook]
As I said earlier, this file contacts was created as
a
file TEXT Format under note pad...
Could you please explain how to do it from Outlook
knowing there are different options...?

-----Original Message-----
How did you create this file and in what format is
it?
If you created it
correctly you should be able to use Outlook's Import
Wizard to import it
into your Contacts Folder as a Tab delimited file.
--
Russ Valentine
[MVP-Outlook]
R: I did find the original one. It's simple, this
is
the
biggest one, 91.3 MB the other are 4100 K, 625 K,
and
235K...
Yes indeed, I searched for and all opened PST.
File.
Question:
Do you know how to Import From Outlook this
notepad/text
format on my desktop which is my contacts address
file
saved a week ago?

Could you please tell me how to do that????
If you don't know how to do it, that's find but
tell
me,
thank you.

-----Original Message-----
Then that would mean that you still have not found
your
original PST file.
Have you searched for and opened all PST file on
your
hard drive? If so,
then you must have done something to this PST file
to
cause it to lose data.
Simply running Detect and Repair would not do this.
There must be more to
this story.

I told you that I read this article. I did follow

(simple and clear) but the result is not what I
was
counting on.
Again and again, I do have my mails back with the
exception of what I wrote you yesterday.
Please, let's focus on those two aspects, if your
want..
- I was able to retrieve my calendar in a funny
way. When I click to my Calendar folder I have
this
new
clean one in, without my previous data in and
below
that
same new calendar folder, I have my old one now.
What I
need to do is to replace my old calendar as my
default
calendar by eliminating (deleting or removing it
definitely) this new one without any data. Could
please
tell how to that? Thank you...
Contacts:
Regarding my contacts folder, it's still empty.
It is not in. What should I do?

Now as you remember, I told you that I have a
while
ago
that Contacts folder under notepad/ Text format.
Do
you
know how from Outlook I could import that
Text/format
contacts file?

From what I understand Bernard went to his Contacts folder, selected all his
contacts and choose File-> Save As... This creates a txt-file that is
impossible to import from. The proper way to export your contacts to a file
would be to use File-> Import and Export... and follow on-screen
instructions.
