loss of folder labels in my pictures

Strangely all my upper level folders in My Pictures disappeared. The ones in
the subfolders stayed. I made a new My Pictures-2 and it works but when I
try to move the folders to the old My Pictures, all the folder names
disappear again. What could be wrong and how to fix.

Open your folder to display the thumbnails.

Click on the view button and change the view
from Thumbnails to List.

Hold the Shift key down, click on the view icon
and change the view back to thumbnails.

Thumbnails will be displayed and the name of
the file should be under each.

Do the same thing for your folders display.
