We have some famliy pc´s set up with XP fully updated and
last version of Norton and 5 users. I have got some
browser hijacker from lop.com.
Microsoft spyware finds it but the PC is immidiately
reinfected.
That means that we get rid of the navigation bar from lop
com in the the browser.
I have an idea that it spreads through MSN but i am not
sure.

I have tried to start the computer together with the kids
and when they start up they are immidiately reinfect the
computer.

I dont want to block my kids access to the internet, but
on the other hand its extremly annoying.

People who create such shi* should have their b**** cut
of.

It might be an extension to Messenger, Messenger Plus, not created by MS.

What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Lop.com is highly profitable to the sites that distribute it, I suspect.

Frank Saunders has some good steps to try--you might also try scanning in
safe mode.

Doing a google search pairing the malware name/url with a reputable security
vendor--Symantec or PestPatrol, for example, may yield results that will
help in a manual removal--hear are a couple of links from Symantec:
