Loosing 16:9 ratio

I am recording in 16:9 using a SONY MiniDV camcoder (PAL). Before capturing I
can choose between DVI-AVI format (25Mbit/s) and three other WMV formats. If
I go with AVI then after saving the file and opening with WMP everything is
OK. If I choose any of the WMV formats, which I would like to do because of
the great compression, I just loose 16:9 after opening with WMP. Does it mean
that WMV format can not keep 16:9? What should I do?

Thanks

Thanks Cari. Sorry, I did not mention that I did that already. It works great
in AVI format but not in WMV.

OK problem solved. I did not go through all of the 3 main steps such as
capture edit and finish. I played the saved WMV after capturing. If I pull
the captured file down to the storyboard the 3rd step (Finish Movie) will be
active so I can save (and not only capture) the file to the computer which
stays in 16:9.

Thanks for the help anyway.
