Login Scripts Replication

J

Jennie

Hi,

I have created a new login script for one on our sites
and placed it on our main server (which i "assumed" was
the export server). I have forced AD replication but the
login script is not being copied over to the new server.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Jennie

Is replication working? Can you force replication? You did put the script in
the netlogon share, right?

You don't have export servers any more in Windows 2000, this was an NT
concept which no longer applies. Windows 2000 uses FRS to replicate scripts
so it doesn't matter which DC you copy it to. Are you copying the script to
the correct location in Sysvol?

This article has more information.

Hi Simon,

We are placing the scripts is:

\winnt\sysvol\domain\scripts

and there is also a copy in

\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\domain.co.uk\scripts

I have read through the article you recommended but i
have never assigned a login script like this before. Is
this the actual recommended method? I usually just create
a batch file and place it in the above directories.

Thanks

Jennie
