Logging into a NT Domain

On initial setup of Win XP Pro I named a computer 036. The problem is that I
already had another computer with the same computer name 036 on our business
domain. I have since changed the computer name to 037. Now I am having
trouble getting it to login to our business domain. I receive two messages
when try to add the computer to the domain:
1. The user could not be added because the following error occurred: The
trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.
2. Windows cannot connect to the domain because, either because the domain
controller is down or unavailable, or because your computer account was not
found. Please try again later.
The BDC is working fine, so it must be a computer account or trust
relationship issue, but when I login locally to the computer and browse the
network, I can browse our business domain with no problems.

Please advise what I am doing wrong, or what I need to setup.

In order to change the name of a computer that is a member of a domain, you
must:
1) Log in locally, and drop it from the domain (join it to a workgroup).
2) Rename it.
3) Re join it to the domain, under its new name.

The fact that you can browse the domain says that the browser is working. I'll
bet you won't be able to access any of the shares though.

Depending upon what you just did, you may have to login to the domain controller
itself, and delete the domain records for 036 and / or 037, while each is
powered off (or disconnected from the network). You'll then have to re join
each to the domain.
