Problem to join the domain

Hi
I am trying to join a windows XP workstation to a NT Domain, but after
providing user ID and password, and domain names, I am getting a error
message saying
The user could not be added because the following error has occurred:
The trust relationship between the workstation and the primary domain failed.
I can ping the domain from the workstation, I am using static IP address,
and configured DNS. I am able to ping the gateway, and all the other
workstations in the network.

How can I fix this trust relationship issue? Reilly appreciate your help

Thank You.

Since this is XP and NT environment, I would check the WINS settings first. Or this search result may help,

logon domain issues “Trust Relationship has failed between the PDC and the workstation†“The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed†...
