Linking Access 2000 tables to Access 97 Front end

I get an error when I try to link Access 2000 tables to Access 97 Front end.

Is it possible to use an Access 97 front End to an Access 2000 back end?

You can link the other way (2000 front end to 97 back end), but not 97 front
end to 2000 back end.
