limited to one window

Glenda P.

I recently noticed that I can't open more than one browser window at a time.
I am not sure when this behavior started. I recently set-up a home wireless
network. I don't think I changed any settings for IE. If I click on the IE
icon, or OPEN a new window, while one window is minimized it just resets
the home page.
Re-use window is not checked in advance settings.
Is there someplace else to change the settings so I can have more than one
browser window open at a time?
Thanks

Hi,
Since "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" is unchecked...

You probably have a toolbar or program running which is blocking pop-up
windows- something like Yahoo toolbar, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, AOL
tollbar, etc.
The Yahoo toolbar is a very common cause. Uninstalling the Yahoo toolbar
should allow a second window to open.

If you're sure that another program isn't causing this, these links should
help.

Thanks so much! That's what it was, I updated my messenger the other day and
it must have installed 3 browser helpers without my knowledge, they didn't
show up as a toolbar but the browser helpers were there when I went to
"manage browser helpers".
I disabled all 3 yahoo helpers and it fixed the problem.
I thought I had inadvertently changed some setting while setting up my home
network and spent much time trying to figure out what I had changed, lol.
Thanks again,
Glenda

Your solution worked. The problem was the Yahoo toolbar.
