Form given as many questions I don't understand, but tried to. I used my
Help command to try to find how to do a command line, but there is no help on
how to open a command line window. I tried using the "run" command, and this
did something, but the window closed before the results could be read, but
something happened.
I answered all the questions I could, and got a message that "3 Step 1

If this chapter is open and bears a relevance number greater than 0, then
the form above has not been filled completely. The results below are
incomplete or incorrect.
This page will yield some results even if the form is only partially filled,
but you may miss the important point that solves your problem. Hence the
recommendation to read the entire form carefully and check all points that
apply."
I then got about 25 screens worth of information. I don't know where to
start. I am completely overwhelmed. Just reviewing what I have done has
taken 1 1/2 hours, plus the frustration of seeing your response, which took 3
days of continually getting "Error Loading" when trying to expand the
categories (which accounts for the slow response for this reply).
Travis,
sorry for this bad experience. Which browser did you use? Did
the first paragraph on the page read as follows?
"Web browser error—no DHTML/JavaScript/CSS: This page is based
on Dynamic HTML and requires Internet Explorer 6 with JavaScript
enabled. Filling in the form may not have any effect. You can
still read the entire document, but the chapters will not be
opened or closed."
In that case the page is difficult to use.
Another possible cause for information overload is that your
computer shows several problems at once.
I can't help this, because the page honestly shows all known
causes of any symptoms you enter. In some cases these are
several, and I know of no way to pinpoint the cause precisely.
Under the heading "General advice" the page also says:
"Working through this page requires some basic knowledge of
computers. If you are new to computers and are stumped by a
request to open a command line window or cannot fulfill some
other demands on this page, it may be a good idea to ask a
friend for assistance who has some more experience."
To open a command line window, you can either click on the
respective choice in the menu, i.e. Start, Programs,
Accessories, etc., or you can use Start, Run..., then enter: cmd
