Licensing problem

One compaq 1010 thin client out of 24 cannot logon - 'Terminal Services
Server ended connection or network problems'. Event 1004 'Terminal server
cannot issue client licence' recorded in TS server system log. TS licensing
server shows a valid licence for this TC issued in Oct 2001 but also a
temporary licence issued Jan 2005 which has now expired. No changes have been
made to the firmware or server software since well before (many months) the
temp licence was issued. Why should this be happening and how do I reconnect
this client?

Have you tried to delete the temporary license from the client (by
resetting the client to the factory defaults?
Also check if you have the latest firmware, and the hotfixes below
(assuming you run W2K on the Terminal Server).

Digging deeper showed up some errors in the TS licensing server system log
which showed that the TS licensing database was corrupted. This was confirmed
when the TS licensing manager started up with a ? and most options causing an
error. Uninstalled TS licensing, reinstalled it and reactivated by phone -
licensing centre very helpful.
