License question - Office 2003

- Bob -

Laptop came with Office Std Edition 2003 - never used it.
Just gave laptop to new hire - gets prompted for license info and
wondering .. to get things working sooner ... they do have multiuser MS
Office license - can they enter THAT license info and have it work, or
need to uninstall trial version /reinstall their version ? Their
multi-version has most Office apps included, so would it maybe just be a
waste of license for now - but they could add/remove later with CD ??
Asking up front so when new hire returns they'll know which option to
choose to do it quickest way. Don't want to waste the space , but if
XP/Office install is smart enough to "know what to do" - to get from
current state to 'the way it should be" - fine.

Thanks
Bob

If they have a license available, they can use that. Most likely you must
reinstall Office though as OEM versions don't accept VLK licenses. Using a
VLK version and key just to install it and then say you have an OEM license
is not allowed, even when you uninstall extra components later.
