lexplore has caused an error

Often when using Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106, I get an
the following error:
lexplore has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL
lexplore will now close

IE closes and reopens, however usually locks afterwards
(not responding) resulting in needing to reboot.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Rich
