Left-clicking problems with Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000

Hi there,

I just purchased a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and after the
second day the mouse does not respond to left-clicks in a random basis.
It can be OK for, say 20 clicks in a row, but then it just stops
responding in the next, say 5 or 10. In addition to that, Windows XP
seems to hang when the mouse fails to left-click, so that makes me
think this is not a pure hardware issue. I have the latest driver and I
have checked twice my computer for viruses and spyware.

Any suggestions PLEASE?

Thanks

I just received my third (!!) replacement mouse three days ago.
I have the wired " Intellimouse Explorer 4", and there is a known
problem with the sensor under the left click button.
My mouse had the same symptoms as yours is showing. I'm hoping that
three times is a charm!

By the way..the Microsoft people at that number are very
easy to deal with. Nothing but praise for them.

Or take it back to where you got it and return it for a Logitech. It
works great....

Ditto on Woody's suggestion. Life is too short to deal with wireless
mice that do not work and will likely continue to fail. Logitech
wireless devices work.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse.
Under the Buttons tab, make sure the "Connected
Device" shows a "Wireless Laser Mouse 6000".
Also, try pressing the "Connect" button on the
bottom of the mouse.
