Laptop Power Problem

Hi, My HP Presario zd8000 started having power management problems after the
latest automatic update from MS. The AC adapter yellow light flickers out
when it is turned on. It will occassionally stay on for a few minutes but has
to be reset again. HP had me install a new driver and discharge static
electricity from the computer but neither worked.
I have ordered a new AC adapter to see if that is the problem. Has anyone
else had this problem or know how to fix it? It is strange that it started
right after I installed the new update. Thanks, Ann

it sounds like a hardware problem.

the flickering light indicates a wobbly connection
at the plugs or sockets from the wall to just inside
your laptop.

or it could possibly the wires/line became frayed/broken and
simply need to be spliced.

do you get the same
problem with no battery installed?

to help confirm or deny some
of your suspicions/curiosity

you can uninstall any updates

or you can also find a restore point
that you are comfortable with.


if the above didn't help,
see if you have that problem
in safe mode.

if the issue remains, then it is a hardware problem.
