I am an American living in Italy. I just bought a new
computer locally, an HP. It had Windows XP Home Edition
preloaded in Italian. I cannot get anything in english.
I contacted HP here in Italy and they said it was not
possible to change the language on this computer, I need
to take it back to where I bought it and exchange it for
one that will accept english. Is this possible? If the
hardware is hardware, couldn't I just reload an english
version of Windows XP on the computer?
HELP!!!!

You'll have to newly install WinXP HE english version, you cannot change the
language of the installed version (has nothing to do with hardware but with
operating system version).
That's what HP probably ment.
