Keep losing LPR port when turning off PC

Wonder if you can help me or advise me where to look on a
weird problem I have Running XP pro on my PC which is
networked via a Netgear firewall... For some strange
reason when I set the PC to use a LPR port to print to my
HP laserJet 4 Plus. I lose the port after re-booting the
PC. If I re-load the LPR port again it will work. Any
ideas why it won't remember that I've typed this in... All
I get every time is the printer is "Offline"..... I have
deleted the printer and re-installed from scratch, yet it
still loses the LPR port each time I switch on the PC....
My other PC works fine on the LPR printer port using the
printer.

Is this the Microsoft LPR Port installed with Print Service for Unix or
another vendors product?

The printer "Offline" is the UI behavior meaning the port was not
initialized.

Have you tried the Standard TCP/IP Port monitor that ships with XP?
