KB832894 IE6 SP1 Patch not installing

Windows update continually prompts for installation of
KB832894 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
6 Service Pack 1 regardless of how many times it has been
installed. I have tried installation directly from the
update site and via the automatic windows updater. System
is W2k SP4. A search of the knowledge base was no help.
Any solutions?

Try this, I don't know if it will work or if you have
solved the problem. Stop the Windows Update service and
disable it. Then install the update, reboot check to see
if it was installed. If so, Enable the Windows update
service and reboot and see if it prompts for installation.
