Kaza

I downloaded the Kaza from www.kaza.com and it came with
loads of spyware. I have ran the MS Antispyware and it has
removed plenty of unwanted software.

However, there is a problem with the browser which I am
unable to solve.
The explorer keeps being redirected to an unwanted
page "about: blank", popups about spyware and casinos keep
appearing and the default page is changed to "about:
blank", no matter how many times I remove the spyware and
change the settings of the explorer with MS Antispyware

Can someone check the kaza software that you download from
the Kaza.com page and introduce a remedy for its spyware
in the MS Antispyware product?

Thank you.

You will need to run Ad-Aware and Spybot also. Then when done, reboot and
run all three again.

I did a test with MAS, Spybot, Ad-aware, and another product when it was in
beta. On my VPC 2k4 I got Kazaa and a installed some fake spyware scanners
from popups and casinos. After all that I got rid of them all. But these reg
keys kept re-apearing. I would delete them, reboot and some new odd ones.

The fix? Delete the Virtual Hard Drive, and replace with the one before I
started.

I was at a Symantec seminar and the host said he even used regmon and format
was the only option. He asked the audiance, I and a few others raised our
hands. If you go to the Symantec seminar go for the goodies, not the
content. The content was bad. I wanted to learn about the Symantec Security
Client 3.0 with Spyware scanning and removing. They just kept saying still
in beta, NDA we will not show it to you. Once our contract ends in Oct., I
am switching to TrendMicro. (Or Microsoft if they have a coporate AV/Spyware
product out). So other than the great food at Dave & Busters, 2 drink
tickets and $20 card for the games, which were boring to me and the fact I
got gas for $1.99Gal (must have been a fire sale, sign is electric) Compared
to the $2.07-$2.17 else where and the fact is was a long drive... They need
to attend Microsoft events to learn how to do things right. Look at the SBS
(Partner?) Tour, Check to see if it is in your area, yea the freebies were
good, but the content was great, they had the SBS Dev PM and Marketing PM
there, they took suggestions, got my issues awnsered with SBS. Just the fact
SBS PM's were there, really listened, awsered questions was great!! (CRM
Lady needed some work. Many people needed to know what it was to begin
with.) I got alot of value with my money at the SBS Tour. I hear the PM's
only visit the tour spots with alot of attendies, so sign up now..

Hi AMS,

First, if you want to hold onto anything that you d/l with Kazaa, move it
out of the 'my shared folder' as a precaution.
Then, Boot into Safe Mode (F8) at startup;
Empty your temporary files AND your Temporary Internet Files C:\Documents
and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder ;
Run the scan while in safe mode;
If you are running SP2, open IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons, and uncheck any
BHO's that you don't recognize.

Should those steps fail, CWShredder would be a next good step.
