provided drivers for all your hardware? Interesting. Not impossible and I
guess I'll believe that however you need to once again realize that this
data goes against the norm or average. I've yet to come across a single
machine where every device had a loaded driver after install. Even on Intel
business machines. Yet, Vista does come with a lot of drivers.

However, these MS drivers are the bottom of the barrel and NOT all of them
are certified. The Vista DVD comes with an 8800GTX driver however that
driver is not certified and while it works, it causes a lot of issues. So
think again if you think all your drivers are certified.

helped with many other issues as well. Which includes having to tell
someone that "whatever issue" is a bug and they'll have to wait until it's
fixed. Of course if a workaround has not been discovered.

In all that time I did the initial testing with everything Windows
provided, not a single non-windows provided driver. After I could not get
anything near reasonable performance for my laptop I tried the hacked
method to get the video working and it did increase my performance a LOT
(over what it was).

Still nothing close to XP.

Now, maybe instead of being so stuck on yourself, instead of being so
hostile, you might listen - there is a serious performance issue with
Vista on many machines - the question is now many people see it and what
can we do about it?

Are you referring to the Vista Upgrade Advisor? Yes, even if you PASS you
still need to further your research on your machine. The only thing that
utility is good for is to pick up the negatives it reports. MS made a huge
mistake by having the app give a person a thumbs up for Vista instead of
specifying it just couldn't find anything wrong.

a driver and BAM! "Whatever issue" went away. Just when I though my video
performance was at an all time high NVIDIA released a new driver and BAM!
More performance. The DX10 demo I have ran much quicker with a higher frame
rate. Ok DX10 isn’t exactly fair. However I also have much smoother H.264
video playback then I ever did on XP (after the update).

So, since my last claim of Vista running faster then XP, it now runs even

1. You have done nothing to verify to us that your systems are supported by
MS. Default drivers do not automatically mean MS approved. You can claim
they are then we would be forced to believe however you already stated you
use MS provided drivers. That's a NoGo. Hopefully SP1 will populate more
appropriate certified drivers and THEN that claim will hold more water.

2. I do not flame "people", only trolls. I've dealt with many people that
have performance issue and some issues get resolved and some do not. For
example:

A good friend of mine went back to XP because any time he played an H.264
video a certain process (specific to certain codec's, I think protected
content specifically) would run amuck on his system and peg at 100%. This
made all H.264 video unplayable. The videos play fine on my system.
Obviously Vista does NOT have a problem playing back H.264 content (this is
where you flame me) so obviously there is a third party issue.

You however make bold claims about Vista based on your data and only data
from others that matches you own data. Also this is the first time I have
EVER seen you state "not all". That would have not made you a troll in the
eyes of this NGs readers..

Of course systems see performance issues with Vista.

1. Drivers are still in beta. There are a massive amount of beta drivers
floating about. Drivers are NOT Vistas problem.

2. There are plenty of non-show stopping bugs to squash. This is no secret.
This is Vistas problem.
