JS fortnight

Hi,
I keep getting the JS fortnight virus. Do you think maybe I'm not getting
completely rid of it? Is there a way of cleaning it? Housecall says they
can't clean it, and AVG says I'm virus free. Anyone any suggestions? Will
running ad-aware and spy-bot do any good? I do have Mcafee, but it's last
years, but it does check for virus's when I run it. (I think)
I never open an attachment. I do put them on the desktop and have AVG run
a scan. Thanks very much....Nel

I suggest that you put JS fortnight into Google search. You'll quickly
find a wealth of information, including removal info. You may be using
an old unpatched version of IE and surfing with scripting enabled.
It's time you just dump IE and use a decent browser such as Mozilla,
Firebird or K-Meleon, don't you think? And have you taken care of your
Network security? Proper settings or a firewall?

And, no, I doubt that Ad Aware or Spybot would handle this malware.
Neither would McAfee if it's not up to date.

Take a look at my web site for some ideas.
