Fortnight virus???

Nel

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to rid myself of the fortnight virus. I run AVG,
McAfee, Ad-aware, Spybot, and housecall and get it off my PC, but as soon
as I start deleting sent messages, and deleting from the e-mail, I get it
again. Am I getting it from messages that I have sent out and being
re-infected when I click on delete?
Thanks, Nel

Yes.

Go to Windows Update and install all the "critical" patches and updates it
offers you. After installing them all and rebooting, go _back_ and get all
the next batch of critical updates. After installing all those and
rebooting, go back and check whether there are any more critical updates
and if so, downlaod and install them too (rare, but I believe can happen).

Now consider dealing with the virus...

(I'm assuming that your current, hopelessly out of date version of IE (and
hence OE) will be updated to 6.0 SP1 as part of this...)

Hi
Thank you so much for your replies. I'm doing the up-dates now.

One thing I was wondering about, I read and was told people were having
trouble with IE 6...so it made me hesitant to install it. Will it cause any
problems for me? Thank you again....Nel

I sure hope you're right. I can't see anything that it's done to my
PC.
I think I have it beat now. I made the mistake of not up-dating my
AVG, and housecall got them for me....Nel
