joining a domain

I am trying to join our co's domain with a laptop that was already on
it. Now i get the message

The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "" The
specified server cannot perform the requested operation

any ideas why this happens?

Can you share some of the info from the netsetup.log? That will help us
identify what may be happening. It is found in \windows\debug. We dont
need to see the entire log but it would be nice to see the events before and
after the error in the log.
