java virtual machine

my chat room change its program. It now says i have to
update my java virtual machine. I don't even know if i
have it.so need to find out if i do and if not how to
install java virtual machine and the update.

Go to http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and click on the download link to
the upper right. Follow the prompts to install the latest one from Sun
Microsystems.
