Java in IE6

We recently bought a new computer and switched to Windows
XP Home Edition and Internet Explorer 6. Now we can't
access a chat site that we were able to use when we had
Windows 98 and IE 5. The error message says "The chat
feature requires a Java compatable Web browser." I
checked the Internet Options security settings,
and "Scripting of Java applets" is enabled. Is there
something I am overlooking?

I'm experiencing the same problem. Every time I try to
access a website or page that requires Microsoft VM, an
install on deemand pop-up window appears, telling me I
have to install MS Virtual Machine (which is no longer
available for download from the MS Support site I'm
directed to). I too have VM (ver. 5.00.3810) installed.
But, in my case, I began having this trouble after
updating to iE6. What can I do to restore my ability to
access VM sites?
