You're okay with Internet Explorer, Bill, the problem is you probably don't
have Microsoft's Virtual Machine (java) installed on the system. You can go
to Start/Run and type in "wjview" without the quotes, then click OK to see
what version you're running (or not).

There is also additional information on java and links to downloads here:
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm#java

In addition, Java VM for all OS's should be available through Windows
Update. See MS
Security Bulletin MS03-011, Flaw in Microsoft VM Could Enable System
Compromise (816093)

If you need to install a previous Build first before installing the patch,
then, in addition to the above link:

For Microsoft Java VM, Build 3809:

Java VM for all OS's except Win2k The file msjavwu.exe, available here:
http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/File_store/msjavwu.exe to be used instead
of msjavx86.exe is an MS VM updated to Version 3809 for non-Win2k users.

I don't know very muc but I use IE 6 som times instead of
AOLs browser and it plays Java great. It could be you're
security settings that are not letting them sites use
Java or set cookies. Under Internet Explorer 6 go to the
top and click "Tools" and all the way at the bottom
is "Internet Options" go there to change you're security
level and other options. Also the webpage that does not
show the Java look at the bottom right hand corner. There
may be an Icon with a Eye and a restricted type sig.
Double Click that if there is one. It will tell you if
the site is blocked from cookies. Like I said I don't
know much of anything but I just wanted to sugges that.
