If you want a English version of XP you will have to purchase it, reformat
your hard drive and install the English version.

Laptops are weird duck's they have lot's of proprietary
drivers and accessories programs. If you are trying to
change everything you'll have the problems you are having.
Best to get some advice from the manufacturer

I was given a older IBM laptop that was originally use for Japanese 98SE OS, with a Japanese key
board. I loaded US Eng. 98SE on it and downloaded all the IBM drivers for all the hardware and it
works well. If you bought a name brand PC then they probably have Eng. driver for all the HW. You
will need to buy a Eng Version of the OS. Next time order the laptop you want with all the right
stuff.
