IWon Prize Machine

I had previously used IWon Prize Machine. I recently tried to
re-install it on my computer to find out that the ActiveX control being

used will not install after I installed XP Service Pack 2. I know many

people say it is adware, spyware, etc. I have spybot and Microsoft
AntiSpyware. they will tell me if they think it is a major threat.
Just because some people may not want it on their computer, doesn't
mean everybody doesn't. Does anyone have any ideas how to make IWon
Prize Machine work? Please don't tell me it is spyware and you think
it is a good thing that XP SP2 doesn't allow it to run. I don't think
it is a positive or a good thing. If I choose to run a piece of
software, even if some consider it spyware, that is my choice and I
should be allowed to do so. Any useful suggestions will be
appreciated. Thanks.

rdunton,

Do you really want a solution to this problem or do you just want to vent
some anger? I doubt you even want a civilized response, but do want a
confrontation with somebody in this forum. I also have a couple programs
that are considered spam (Kazaa Lite & WeatherBug) and use them cautiously.
If you want spyware or a virus on your computer.. who cares.

You know the answer. You posted the answer in your question. If you really
want to run this piece of crap go back to the system you were using when it
infected you.

I wonder if anyone really wins money from iwon.

Look at this page.

In your c:\boot.ini
Change from
Edition" /fastdetect /something=something
to
Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=AlwaysOff

Then reboot

(Note the above boot.ini has been snipped for space)

Then reboot and plan on hard drive crashing according to some of those
post there.

Disclaimer-This is spyware/adaware. It is up do you if you want to
install it.
