isp does not support modem on hold

since upgrading from windows ME to XP surfing the net has become frustrating.
I continue to get dropped from my ISP along with the message;

incoming call
ISP does not support modem on hold.
If you accept incoming call, your internet connection will be terminated.
Do you want to accept the call
Yes No

and even if I choose NO it still cuts me off. I never had this problem with
windows ME using the same ISP
I have disabled call waiting. Please HELP

Go to the modem manufacturers site and see if they have an update for their
MOH (modem on hold) utility and check for information on v.92 or a MOH faq.
You might also right click the MOH icon in the task bar and see if you can
configure it to ignore incoming calls.
