Isass.exe Error - XP will not start

Is anyone familiar with a problem during boot-up, after
the Windows XP splash screen appears, I get a Window that
has a title Isass.exe Error...."When trying to update a
password this return status indicates that the value
provided as the current password is not correct." There
is an OK button and then the system automatically
reboots. I've tried booting into Safe mode and Last
Known Good Configuration, but no success. I'm unable to
get back into XP.

I received this error after I had to power-down my system
when it wouldn't wake-up from stand-by mode.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

This is a known problem with preinstalled systems that do not have SP1
installed. It needs to be addressed by the system manufacturer, you can
refer them to this:

You Cannot Log On to Windows XP After Running the Out-of-Box Experience

Your biggest issue here may be that they will require you to reinstall
WindowsXP using their recovery software. This may also require that you
format the system and lose existing data.
