Is MSAS compatible with multiple user accounts ?

T

Terry

I have a home PC running WinXP Pro SP2 with 2 user accounts - mine and my
son's. If I log off my account and logon to my son's and then log back again
, I get a MSAS alert : "An Unknown Internet Explorer Web Browser is being
added to Internet Explorer".

The strange thing is that this happens only when I logoff/logon as detailed
above. During a fresh start-up I get no message when I logon to my account.
Ideas anyone ?

About the only thought I can offer is that yes, others in the same situation
see something similar.

there you go, you've just found the workaround to your
issue. what does the 2 account have administrator or
limited? because even tho MSAS load on limited Account it
doesn't protect you at all as it doesn not work under
limited account so real-time protection is useless and
won't protect you at all.

What makes you think that it doesn't "work" under a limited account?

I think there are issues--like this popup--but I think that the real-time
protection is working.

I have not seen any antispyware that work under limited
account, one good example of this is spysweeper 3.5 which
does not work completely on limited account specially
it's own real-time protection. i also like spysweeper
which is very effective and looking forward for
spysweeper 4.0 when it comes out, this might support
limited account.
