Irfanview conflicts with Power Point

I use Irfanview very often without a problem in the past and i'm very
happy about it. Only lately however, I can no longer open a Microsoft
Power Point file from my file folder. Every time I click a Power Point
file, the Irfanview opens instead of the Power Point software and the
display ends up in error message. I tried to disable all associated
extensions in Irfanview hoping to avoid possible P Point files but that
did not help. I un installed the Irfanview and a Power Point file
displays normally after clicking it.

I already tried re installing the Microsoft Office 2000 (Professional),
as well as the Irfanview softwares but this did not solve the problem
either.

I am using a Win XP-SP2 and Irfanview v3.98. Could you please help me?

Have you tried going into the folder where the files are saved, going into
"Tools" at the top of the page, and then into "File Types" and then finding
the file type "PPT", and then in the bit where it says "Opens with..."
select the correct program to open them.

That should do the trick.
