Invalid Syntax Error

This is a result of the latest Microsoft Windows Update. BTW, this update resolves the major vulnerability. The following URL syntax is no
longer supported in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer after you install this software update:
http(s)://username:password@server/resource.ext

A security update is available that modifies the default behavior of Internet Explorer for handling user information in HTTP and HTTPS URLs: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834489

This security update is a must.

I can no longer include a login/password combo in the URL for sites. It returns "Invalid Syntax Error". The format I have been using up to today was:

http://login:[email protected]

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Doesn't it bring the authentication dialog? You may notify the webmaster.
