Internet explorer

Some spyware has apparently modified my internet explorer
so I occasionally get a page that says internet optimizer
rather than what I ask for. Spybot didn't fix the
problem. I removed a "internet optimizer" file in the
program files directory but that didn't fix it either.
Any idea how to fix it?

If Spybot didn't pick it up try this program
Ad-aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Download it, once installed, check for updates, then run
the program. Kill anything it finds. You can quarantine
(backup) any items you are not sure about.
By the way, Spybot just released a new version. You
should probably get the new version.

Make sure you have updated Windows with all the latest
Critical Updates.

PS - Removing a folder never gets rid of the spyware.
You probably have an entry in the Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs might be called - Active Alert,
Internet Optimizer or Media Manager. I would go ahead
and try Adaware first. Just see if the entry is there
and make sure its gone after you run Adaware.
If you are still having problems try one of these
Forums. They will help you clean any garbage up. You
might just want to go anyway for a double-check.
