Internet Explorer Search engine

Using IE6 and I wish to change the "default" search engine (reached by
clicking on the search engine icon on the tool bar - which opens a split
screen and a search can be started on that left hand screen). I would
appreciate instructions on this.
TIA

To change the default Internet search service

When you search the Internet, you can choose the default search service you
want Search Companion to use.

1. With the search pane open, click Customize at the top of the search pane.

2. Choose one of the three radio buttons at the top of the window that
opens.

3. You can make all of your available choices from this window.

uh oh, didn't work (or I didn't explain myself properly)!

Currently I have showing in the search pane, Looksmart and Ninemsn as the
"search engines". I wish to use Google but I cannot find a way to remove or
replace the ones already there.

Another tip/idea? <g>
